Volkswagen Presents Drivers with an End-of-Year Gift: A New 2025 Taos SUV
Volkswagen of Fairfield is waiting for a big holiday gift: the spanking-new 2025 Volkswagen Taos, VW’s small SUV, makes its debut just before the end of the year. Totally refreshed, inside and out, it has a beefed-up engine, some cool new colors, and upgraded technology.
We’re definitely loving what we’re hearing so far, and we know you will, too. As Car and Driver recently described, the 2025 Taos, “is right-sized for urban dwellers, and the 2025 Taos’s updated looks should help set it apart” and the upgraded engine “promises some additional oomph.”
That should make it perfect for getting around on our streets and highways here in Northern California. Edmunds called it “a big deal,” packing “plenty of modern tech and safety features into a tidy package. It also has excellent passenger and cargo space.”

2025 Volkswagen Taos Highlights
- More powerful 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 174 horsepower that zooms from zero-to-60 mph in 7.8 seconds.
- Choice of front and all-wheel drive; FWD has an eight-speed automatic transmission, and AWD has a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic.
- Four trim levels: S (basic), SE, SE Black, and SEL, each with more features, more convenience, and more luxury.
- New exterior styling, including a redesigned front end with a new grille, available light bar, LED projector headlights, and available Adaptive Front-lighting System. The rear has connected taillights and an illuminated VW badge.
- Ample rear-seat legroom (37.9”) and 28 cubic feet cargo space/66 with rear seats folded down.
- Three new colors are on SE and higher trim levels: an arresting Bright Moss Green, Monument Gray, and Monterey Blue Pearl. New wheel designs are also on offer.
- Upholstery options, depending on trim level, ranging from standard cloth two-tone seats in the S version to leather in the SEL version.
- The new dashboard design includes a floating eight-inch infotainment display and digital instrumentation.
- Upgraded technology, including App Connect, Bluetooth, Volkswagen Car-Net® with Wi-Fi capability, remote start and KESSY® Go. SE and SEL trims add wireless charging, satellite radio, voice control, touch control for the Climatronic® HVAC and Park Distance Control for front and rear.
- IQ.DRIVE® driver assistance for all trims: Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistance); Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring); Active Blind Spot Monitor; Rear Traffic Alert; Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Stop and Go; Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System); and Emergency Assist (semi-automated vehicle assistance in a medical emergency).
- Prices range from $24,995 for the FWD S version to $34,695 for the SEL, which comes with standard 4Motion AWD.
