Looking Forward to the New Year and the All-New 2025 VW Tiguan

With a new design, more power, and more premium touches – the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is designed to delight. Of course, we must wait a few months to see it, but the reviewers who have glimpsed it all say it will be well worth the wait. The Tiguan has been Volkswagen’s top seller, and this re-do should continue that dominance. One notable caveat with the restyling, though, is that it will only come with five seats instead of seven, although that means better legroom for rear-seat passengers.

Here are some of the highlights:

• The exterior is sleeker, bolder, and more muscular, and it looks more like its cousin, the Audi.
• The 2.0-liter turbo inline-four powertrain puts out 201 hp, up from 184 hp, and since the 2025 VW Tiguan also lost 170 lbs., it will be faster and more efficient.
• Standard wheels are 17”, but higher trims offer 19” and 20” wheels.
• The 2025 Tiguan has color, including three new exterior colors: Avocado Green Pearl, Sandstone Uni, and Monterey Blue Pearl. Ten or 30-color ambient lighting – “Atmospheres” that synchronize the lighting and audio – are available depending on trim level.
• The interior is much more upscale with premium materials like American Walnut, a wrapped and double-stitched console, Savona Leather, or embossed cloth seats – again, depending on trim level. The feel is luxurious.
• The Tiguan boasts impressive technology, highlighted by a standard 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro and central infotainment system with a standard 12.9-inch infotainment display that can be upgraded to 15 inches. Delight in an available 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. A head-up display is an option. And, yes, there are some actual buttons and dials! 
• Wireless charging is standard, as is App-Connect. 
• Safety equipment includes standard Volkswagen IQ.DRIVE® Level 2 driving assists, with forward collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist and parking sensors, front collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian monitoring, active blind spot monitor, rear traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, stop and go, and four new airbags for a total of 10.

It was recently announced that the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan also will be available as a hybrid, but likely not a plug-in hybrid. This 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV should make a real splash when it finally arrives at Volkswagen of Fairfield. We are very excited to see it in person and share it with you!
